Downpayment
Assistance program
The primary goal of the DPA program is to increase the number of homeowners among African Americans, thereby strengthening communities throughout the United States. Program recipients are gifted up to $7,500 to be used towards down payment and closing costs for the purchase of a primary residence home. The program is intended for first-time home buyers who can afford monthly mortgage payments but do not have enough saved up to pay the initial down payment and non-reoccurring closing costs. If this is you, please reach out to us below to learn more!
Wider Path Home Foundation partners with Community Allies which brings the Honoring Stories and Integrating Curriculum@ methodology for bringing together businesses with governments, nonprofits, and schools to strengthen local, regional, and national community growth initiatives that create pathways out of homelessness and into affordable housing, quality healthcare, youth development, workforce development, entrepreneurship, small business development, and talent pipelines for all.
Wider Path lending partners are not required to complete this training. Wider Path has developed specific guidelines and referral systems to ensure its lending teams/partners are already truly serving first-time homebuyers of all cultural backgrounds well.
The Community Allies methodology Honoring Stories and Integrating Curriculum® trains lenders in how to become culturally relevant homebuyer educators and helps lenders provide digital pre-purchase, purchase, and post-purchase homebuyer education for faith-based organizations.
In mutually agreed upon Faith Based Organizations where Wider Path desires to set up Widening the Path programs, Wider Path provides complimentary in-person pre-purchase, purchase, and post-purchase homebuyer education. Nothing in the Wider Path, Community Allies Agreement limits the Non-Profit’s discretion to determine its program partners or service locations. Any Faith-Based Organization who desires to partner with Wider Path to set up a Widening-the-Path partnership towards homebuyer education can contact Wider Path.
